What’s your story?

We were on a short break while filming recently. A great client with a good brand and story to tell.

Everything was going well, except for the pelting rain (…hence the unplanned break).

Over a quick coffee with the client, she started to tell me about a colleague who was leading a new team. Warehouse Teams can be a handful, but here was a team she could work well with. One of the team members caught her notice. He stood out as different from the rest.

His name was Glen. Like the others, he was amiable and cooperative. But unlike the others, Glen displayed a quiet, measured precision in what he did. She caught up with Glen and began with the universal conversation starter - the weather. Then he told his story.

Everyone everywhere has a story. Some more interesting than others. Especially the ones in the warehouses and transport yards. Especially from the quieter guys like Glen.

It turns out Glen had been a helicopter pilot - in the Chinese Army.

His story and many like his would make a short and powerful video. No need to mention your trucks, your sheds, and your service. An honest face. A compelling backstory. An emotional connection. All wrapped up in your brand.

Have a look around on the next coffee break or lunchtime. Who in your staff has a story to tell?

There’s at least one Glen in every workplace.
